Teacher Accused of Serving Minors Resigns

A Valley Center Middle School teacher facing charges for serving alcohol to minors has resigned.

Nancy Hildebrand, 56, was arrested two months ago after San Diego County sheriff's deputies responded to what was described as an out-of-control party where minors were served alcohol.

Hildebrand resigned from her position according to our media partners at The North County Times.

The paper reports a school board official says Hildebrand will stay on the district's payroll and will receiving her $84,000 annual salary until her resignation takes effect in June 2012.

Hildebrand faces four misdemeanor counts and could spend up to a year in jail if convicted
