Singer/songwriter Taylor Swift reportedly sent flowers in honor of a Camp Pendleton-based Marine killed in Afghanistan.
Sgt. Wade Wilson, 22, of Normangee, Texas was killed May 11th in Helmand Province.
Known as “Willy” by his friends, the anti-tank missileman “worshipped” the singer according to his friends in the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines according to a blog post.
One friend posted a “shout out” to the singer on YouTube before the Marine’s service Sunday.
“Anybody that knew Willy personally knew that he worshipped you,” Wilson’s friend Josh Marreel said in a YouTube video. “He even slept with a poster of you in between our beds in Afghanistan on his first deployment there.”
Mareel told Swift, he only wanted her to think about his fallen friend.
