A person in a wheelchair was seriously injured on Wednesday morning after being struck by a taxi cab downtown, according to authorities.
The incident happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. on the intersection of First Avenue and C Street.
The patient was transported to UCSD Hospital in life-threatening condition, according to the fire department.
Traffic was blocked off at the scene while authorities investigated the incident.
