The teacher's union and Sweetwater School district reached a tentative agreement on Thursday night.
This agreement hopes to close the district's $27 million deficit.
The potential one-year agreement will shorten the work year for teachers up to 14 days, with a professional development day and 13 instructional days.
The agreement maintains the staffing allocations for 31 students to each teacher.
