According to authorities, the device – which appears to be some sort of pipe with wires – was located at 16th Street and G Street.

Police and fire crews arrived at the scene around 10:40 p.m.

Authorities blocked off southbound traffic from 16th street at G Street as they investigated.

An arson strike team has been requested as well.
