Suspects in Robbery Series Arrested

San Diego police arrested two men in connection with two robberies that occurred within minutes of each other early Saturday morning in Spring Valley and Bonita.

Just before 12:30 a.m. two men were robed at gunpoint by one suspect near 544 Osage Street in Spring Valley, said SDPD Sergeant Chris Davis.

Armed with a black handgun, the suspect hit and pistol-whipped one of the men before fleeing the scene in a car with some of the victimโ€™s property, Davis said. A second suspect was reportedly seen driving the getaway car, described as a two-door red Honda.

A female minor was robbed eight minutes after the Osage Street robbery, Davis said.

The robbery happened in a parking area at 5155 Cedarwood Road in Bonita and police said the suspect matched the description of the man in the first robbery.

A deputy observed the suspectโ€™s vehicle at Worthington Street and Paradise Valley Road within minutes of the second robbery. The driver, who was identified as 26-year-old Herman Jones, was then taken into custody, Davis said.

The other suspect fled the scene on foot to a nearby neighborhood, leading police on a search that ended when he was found hiding under a home by a SDPD Normal 0 ABLE helicopter.

Police arrested the second suspect, identified as 19-year-old Omar Abudlle.

The victims identified the men and numerous articles of evidence and stolen property from the robberies were recovered, Davis said.

Jones was charged with three counts of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery and Abudlle was charged with one count of burglary.

Both of the male victims declined medical treatment at the scene of the first robbery and no official word was given on the minor's condition after the second incident.
