The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department in Encinitas is asking for the public's help to identify and locate two suspects accused of using stolen credit cards at local stores.

According to detectives, two unknown suspects stole a purse from a car parked at 16902 Via de Santa Fe in Rancho Santa Fe on Aug. 6, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Detectives said the two suspects – a white adult female and a white adult male, both between the ages of 20 and 25 – then used a credit card found in the stolen purse at the Walmart store on Grossmont Center Drive in La Mesa and at USA Gas on Imperial Avenue in San Diego.

On Aug. 7, the same suspects used a stolen credit card from the purse and wrote several checks at the Walmart on Town Center Parkway in Santee and the Walmart on Murphy Canyon Road. Surveillance video at the stores captured the suspects, pictured right.

Detectives said the suspects were spotted driving a small, grey compact car. The woman was wearing a black tank top and tan shorts while the man was wearing a black T-shirt and black or gray shorts in at least one of the visits to a Walmart store.

Anyone with information on this case should contact Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
