Suspects Sought in North County Burglary Series

Detectives say the suspects are targeting commercial farm and garden supply stores, stealing powered gardening tools

Detectives are asking for the public's help in tracking down leads in a series of commercial burglaries happening in the North County.

According to investigators, there have been at least four reported commercial burglaries in Encinitas, Fallbrook and Valley Center between Sept. 20 and Oct. 17.

The unknown suspects are targeting commercial farm and garden supply businesses, forcing entry after hours, detectives said.

In the process, the suspects have stolen thousands of dollars in gardening tools, including gas-powered chain saws, weed trimmers, leaf blowers and other powered tools.

The businesses that have been burglarized include Grangetto’s Farm and Garden Supply in Encinitas, Valley Center Powerland Equipment in Valley Center and L&M Fertilizer in Fallbrook.

Detectives the suspects may also be responsible for additional crimes in the area.
