A face only a mother could love and apparently turn in.
On Wednesday, Oceanside police asked for help identifying a suspect involved in a jewelry theft last month and they got an unusual tip in the case.
Police said a man’s parents called after seeing surveillance pictures during a newscast showing the suspect, who they claim is their son, at "Gems N' Loans" on Mission Avenue on November 10th.
He is accused of going behind the counter and grabbing a tray of gold necklaces when the clerks were distracted. He then ran out of the store and jumped into a getaway car. Police said he stole nearly $7,000 worth of jewelry.
A second person was also arrested in connection with the robbery.
