Deputies are searching for a suspect in connection with an alleged sexual assault that happened at the Del Mar Fairgrounds last month.
According to investigators, a female victim told deputies she met a man at the fairgrounds at 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd. on Sept. 30 while she was outside waiting for a taxi.
The victim said she walked with the suspect to a remote area of the fairgrounds where she was allegedly sexually assaulted by the man.
The victim reported the crime and now detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the man above, who’s wanted for questioning in this case.
Detectives said the victim sustained minor injuries in the assault, but a weapon was not used.
The suspect is described as a white, heavy-set male, 20 to 25 years old and approximately 5-feet-10-inches tall. He has short brown hair and a goatee and was last seen wearing a grey shirt with the word “NAVY” printed across the front. He was also wearing eyeglasses.
