Suspect Arrested in Encanto Homicide Investigation: SDPD

He is suspected of allegedly stabbing 44-year old Robert Acevedo of Lemon Grove.

A man turned himself in to authorities on Monday in connection to a homicide investigation in Encanto, the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) announced.

Miguel Ramos, 20, turned himself into the SDPD Homicide Detectives at the San Diego Police Headquarters Monday.

He is suspected of allegedly stabbing 44-year old Robert Acevedo of Lemon Grove. Officers found Acevedo early Sunday morning after a witness reported the stabbing to police at approximately 12:28 p.m.

He was found on the 1000 block of Evelyn Street with stab wounds to his torso. When officers arrived on scene, a witness was performing CPR on Acevedo. 

Officers took over CPR and medics who later arrived continued life-saving measures but Acevedo was pronounced dead on scene.

Witnesses told police they heard an argument and went outside to investigate when they saw two men fighting. One of the men fled the scene. When residents further investigated, they found a victim lying on the ground and called police.

According to detectives, Ramos and Acevedo knew each and had an ongoing despute before their fight on Sunday morning.

Ramos was booked into San Diego County Jail.
