Surveillance Video Key in Robbery Investigation

The suspects, armed with guns, entered the Denny’s restaurant on Mile of Cars Way around 1:45 a.m.

Surveillance video may be the key to help police find three suspects who robbed a restaurant employee in National City early Monday.

The suspects, two who were armed with guns, entered the Denny’s restaurant on Mile of Cars Way around 1:45 a.m. officials said.

Of the dozen people eating inside the restaurant at the time of the robbery, many had no idea that just feet away, an employee was getting robbed at gunpoint.

As one suspect lured the employee to the front, a second suspect popped up from behind the counter, saying quietly, "give me all of the money" according to investigators. Meanwhile, a third suspect stood by the entry door.

After taking cash, all three men ran across the street, and got into a gray car that looked similar to a Mustang one employee told police.

The suspects made no attempt to cover their faces. One suspect has a tear drop tattoo underneath his right eye. Another suspect has a piercing on his left eye.
