How to Partake in Fleet Week 2016 in San Diego

Fleet Week events in San Diego continue through Oct. 1

San Diego has the largest concentration of military in the world, with more than 100,000 active duty men and women living and working locally. Fleet Week 2016 is a fun way for military and non-military members of the community to honor and celebrate our military through interactive public events.

Fleet Week activities continue through Oct. 1, with the following events, which can be attended by anyone -- military and civilians:

MCAS Miramar Air Show
Sept. 23-25 (free admission)
See incredible performances from U.S. military aircraft, including the Navy’s famous Blue Angels, the Golden Knights Parachute Team and the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs Parachute Team while enjoying a live band, DJ, specialty drinks and karaoke.

Cabrillo Festival
Oct. 1 (free admission)
Learn the history of 16th Century Spanish soldiers, how to make a Kumeyaay basket and master tying different knots while dancing, singing and trying new foods from across the globe at the Cabrillo Festival.

MCRD Boot Camp Challenge
Oct. 1 (Individual: $39: 3-Person Team: $117: 5-Person Team: $195)
Get down and dirty in the 3-mile obstacle run used only by Marine Recruits, with over 60 USMC Drill Instructors along the course providing direction and encouragement for participants.
