A rocket carrying a secret government satellite has been launched from the California coast.
The Atlas 5 rocket lifted off from Vandenberg Air Force Base around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
Vandenberg officials say it's carrying a satellite with a classified payload for the National Reconnaissance Office, which oversees the nation's constellation of spy satellites.
The launch comes after a delay earlier this week because of an issue with the rocket's avionics that has since been fixed.
No details have been released about the purpose of the payload.
