Firefighters responded Monday afternoon to a fire in an Otay Mesa junkyard that sent black smoke into the area.
Several wrecked cars caught fire on Pogo Row and Heritage Road, just north of Brown Field in Otay Mesa at about 4:30 p.m., according to San Diego Fire Rescue.
Firefighters on the ground and in a helicopter worked to knock the flames down shortly after responding. Police provided traffic control in the area as well.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
