Anthuane Horton has been arrested for felony hit and run

A skateboarder remains in critical condition after he was struck by a car in the East Village, according to San Diego police.

The incident happened at 6:21 p.m. Tuesday at 16th Street and Broadway.

The 23-year-old man was rushed to Scripps Mercy Hospital. Police say he suffered a brain bleed and a deep cut to the back of his head, but is expected to live. His name has not been released.

On Wednesday, officers arrested Anthuane Horton at a probation office downtown. He was booked into jail for felony hit and run, according to police.

Officials say Horton took off after hitting the skateboarder.

Tuesday night, police announced they were looking for a light-colored four-door Hyundai with possible damage to the hood and windshield. That car has still not been found.
