A skateboarder died Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle on a road in El Cajon, according to El Cajon police.
The collision occurred just after 6 p.m. as the skateboarder was riding in the 1200 block of Jamacha Rd, said Lt. Frank La Haye.
A 20-year-old driving a Nissan reportedly hit the skateboarder and immediately stopped after the accident.
A passerby who witnessed the accident tried to perform first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived, La Haye, said.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was later pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.
Jamacha road was closed both ways for several hours following the accident.
