Shots Reportedly Fired During Robbery at Lakeside Fast Food Joint

Multiple shots were reported during a robbery Sunday evening at a fast food restaurant in Lakeside, deputies said.

The incident took place around 7:40 p.m. at the Burger King in the 14100 block of Olde Highway 80, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department said.

It was too early to tell if anyone in the restaurant was struck, a sheriff's watch commander told NBC 7.

The suspect used a handgun in the robbery, the deputy said. The suspect was described as a man in his late 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing around 180 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with an orange "H" on it, a white short-sleeve shirt.

A sheriff's helicopter was called in to search for the man, the watch commander said.
