5 Shots Fired at Car at I-805, SR 94 in Mt. Hope: CHP

Just after 9 p.m., at least five bullets struck a car on northbound Interstate 805 connector to eastbound State Route 94.

Law enforcement officers are looking for a dark blue pickup that opened fire on another vehicle along Interstate 805 in the Mount Hope area Tuesday.

A man driving northbound on I-805 told California Highway Patrol officers a vehicle was tailgating him right before he reached the transition ramp to State Route 94.

Once the victim was on the ramp, the pickup drove up on his right side and opened fire, shooting the victim's vehicle several times.

The victim headed westbound on SR-94 and pulled over at Home Avenue to call 911.

CHP officials said there were five bullet holes in the victim's vehicle.The driver and his dog escaped injury.

The pickup truck was last seen traveling east toward Lemon Grove.

The suspect's vehicle was described by the victim as a late 1990s to early 2000s regular cab, Chevy Silverado pickup.

The suspect vehicle had dark limo tint with large 24-inch black rims and low profile tires, according to the CHP.
