A passenger was gunned down inside a parked car in Valencia Park early Saturday morning.
According to authorities, the shooting happened at 54th Street and Imperial Avenue around 2:20 a.m.
A man was sitting in the passenger’s side of a parked car while his girlfriend sat in the driver’s seat. Authorities said a black male walked up to the passenger’s side and fired several rounds into the car from a handgun.
The male passenger was hit by eight rounds in the chest, according to authorities. The girlfriend was not injured.
The victim’s girlfriend then drove him to the 5300 block of Manzanares Way, where the girlfriend’s sister called police.
Medics transported the victim to a local trauma center. His condition remains unknown.
Police said the suspect is described as a black male in his 20s with a short afro. He was wearing a white T-shirt at the time of the shooting.
