Cops Chase Shooting Suspects Through South Park

Police searched for suspects in a canyon Wednesday.

Someone inside an SUV shot at a pedestrian walking in City Heights and prompted a police pursuit that traveled through a wooden fence, into a park and down into a canyon in South Park.

A San Diego police officer witnessed the shooting near Chamoune and Myrtle just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The vehicle was described as a white SUV with three people inside.

The officer followed the SUV through City Heights into South Park where the pursuit moved off-road into a nearby park before ending at 33rd and Grape Streets.

All of the suspects were arrested by 3:20 p.m.

Police have set up a perimeter round a home on Felton Street where the suspect was seen jumping into a yard. The suspect was discovered under the home officers said.

Four schools were placed on temporary lockdown, but it was lifted after 3:15 p.m. according to police. They included Einstein, Golden Hill, McKinley and Garfield.

No one was injured in the initial shooting.
