Sexual Assault Reported in Cal State San Marcos Residence Hall

California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) police are investigating a reported sexual assault on campus last week, according to a community alert released Tuesday.

A woman told officers she was sexually assaulted at the QUAD residence hall, located at 200 Barham Drive, in the early hours of Friday.

She reported it to university police on Sunday, officials say.

The suspect, who is not a CSUSM student, is described as a 19-year-old, dark-skinned man with black hair and black eyes. He stands 6-feet tall and weighs 175 pounds, police say.

They believe the suspect lives in the San Marcos area, but he is not in custody.
