Search Over for Girl Near Tijuana River

The desperate search in the Tijuana River Valley for two missing children was called off Monday.

A specialized team and dogs spent the morning looking for the two kids swept away during last week's storms.

It was a daunting task for the Border Patrol's search, trauma and rescue team but one for which they train.

Last Wednesday night south of the border, a car flipped over in a flooded Tijuana street. According to Mexican officials a pregnant mother and 10-year old were both killed. The bodies of a 5-year old girl and 2-year old boy were missing.

Over the weekend a migrant crossing into the U.S. illegally reported seeing a small body in the Tijuana River Valley. That sighting  triggered renewed search efforts in the U.S.

Agents combed through the muddy river bed in an area called Goat Canyon near Border Field State Park.
