School Locked Down After Park Shooting

    Six or seven shots were fired not far from Mary Lanyon Fay Elementary School in City Heights, police said.

    The school in the 4050 block of 52nds Street was locked down after the shooting, which took place after 1 p.m. on Tuesday in nearby Colina Del Sol Park, according to investigators.

    Police said two Latino men fired six or seven rounds, hitting at least one person, who was shot in the back. The gunmen were last seen fleeing toward El Cajon Boulevard to the North.

    Just after 3 p.m., police lilfted the school lockdown, and the students and staff were released from the facility.

    So far, police have made no arrests in the case.
