Santee Man Dies from Gunshot Wound

The crime scene appears to be an alley behind several homes

Early Friday morning, a  man was discovered on the couch of a Santee home with a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators said Anthony Tesch, 41, was found on the couch of the home at 10101 Prospect Ave. Tesch died Sunday morning as a result of his injuries.

The suspect is Joseph Hall, 36, who is Tesch's brother. Hall has been arrested in Lakeside. He has been charged murder.

Just after 5 a.m. Friday, deputies received a call about a shooting on Prospect Avenue in Santee.

The initial report was of a man shot in the stomach. Deputies say they’ve received conflicting reports on Tesch’s injuries.

The shooting victim's sister was in the shower at the time of the shooting.

Two relatives at home at the time of the shooting were removed from the scene so evidence could be preserved, said Sgt. Kurt Goldberg.

No weapon was found inside.

"I don't know what happened in that home, whether it was a relative or not," said Goldberg.

Emergency crews airlifted Tesch to a nearby hospital, where he was on life support until he died Sunday morning.
