Missing San Marcos Girl Found

The 12-year-old girl never arrived at Woodland Middle School

A 12-year-old San Marcos girl who never arrived to school this morning has been found alive and has returned to her mother, according to San Diego Sheriff's Office.

Jasmine Cossio usually walks to Woodland Middle School but around 9:30 a.m. her mother called deputies saying her daughter never arrived at the school.

Jasmine was upset in the morning, and ended up going to her grandmother's house in Escondido instead of going to school.

The grandmother had no knowledge that Jasmine had skipped school.

San Diego County Sheriff's Search and Rescue looked for the girl while the department's helicopter  circled overhead making announcements for residents to be on the lookout for the girl.
