Missing Casa de Oro Man Last Seen in La Mesa

Ed. Note: At 4:30 p.m. Thursday, officials reported that Silva was found, unharmed.

Local law enforcement officials are asking for the public’s help to locate a 72-year-old man considered at-risk.

Robert Silva of Casa de Oro was reported missing Thursday around 10:30 a.m. when he walked away from his home on San Juan Street near Harney Street.

He was wearing a gray polo shirt and jeans that were either blue or gray.

Officials said Silva was last seen getting off a bus at the Spring Street Trolley Station in La Mesa.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department released Silva’s picture and described him as 5-foot, 4-inches tall and weighing 180 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.

His family said Silva lives with dementia and uses a walker. Even though he knows how to use public transportation, family members fear he may not know how to get home.

According to his family, Silva may have been visiting relatives in City Heights.
