Cop Car Damaged, Driver Flees

Officers said the driver may not have faced charges if he or she had stopped

Someone drove their car into a San Diego police officer’s patrol car and then drove off Friday morning.

The officer’s door got a pretty serious dent when the accident happened around 7:45 a.m. on State Route 52 and Genesee Avenue.

An officer was stopping to help another driver tow a car when a silver Saturn drove by and struck the front door of the patrol car.

The driver didn’t stop but instead kept driving eastbound on SR 52. Now, police officers said they’re looking for the vehicle and the driver but did not release a suspect description.
