In response to a growing number of vote-by-mail ballots, San Diego County is offering 14 drop-off ballot locations.
Those wishing to drop off their ballot in time for the Nov. 4 general election can do so at those locations between Oct. 27 until Nov. 3.
San Diego County Registrar Michael Vu said in a news release that the new ballot locations are intended to help with the timely return of ballots and decrease the high volume of voters dropping off mail ballots at polling places.
Those ballots mailed In the days just prior to Election Day, don’t always arrive before the 8 p.m. deadline on Nov. 4, and those late votes can’t be counted. Officials hope the new drop-off locations will ensure ballots are received in time.
