Injured Man Doesn't Recall What Happened: CVPD

A Northern California man found lying in a road with several broken bones doesn't recall what happened, police said.

A Northern California man was found lying in a Chula Vista road Tuesday suffering from several broken bones and telling officers he doesn’t remember what happened to him.

Chula Vista Police officers were called to a section of Orange Avenue near 2nd, west of Hilltop Drive just before 1:30 a.m.

A nearby resident reported hearing someone’s screams for help.

Officers found a man lying with his head on the curb and feet in the road. There was also a trail of blood leading from one of the lanes of traffic on Orange Avenue, police said.

The man, identified by police as a 25-year-old Northern California resident visiting family in the area, could not recall what happened to cause his injuries.

He suffered a broken left leg, broken pelvis and internal injuries, police said. He was taken by ambulance to UC San Diego Medical Center.

The man told police he only remembered walking from the park along the sidewalk. The next thing he knew, he woke up on the ground and in the street, police said.

Officers say there are no witnesses and no evidence of a vehicle - no license, skid marks or debris.
