San Diego County Sheriff's Deputy Crashes Patrol Car into Trolley

A San Diego County sheriff’s deputy collided with a trolley in Santee Monday.

The deputy was responding to an emergency call just before 10 a.m. when he drove into the trolley at Cuyamaca Street and Prospect Avenue.

As the deputy entered the intersection with his lights flashing and sirens blaring, he collided with the trolley, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

There were 12 passengers on the trolley at the time of the collision. Fortunately, no one was injured in the crash.

The deputy was the only occupant of the patrol car, stated officials from the Sheriff's Department.

Trolley service was restored before 11 a.m. An investigation is underway from the Santee Traffic Division.
