Eric Weddle, Family Ups Ante in Ice Bucket Challenge

The largest bucket was reserved for Weddle himself from high above

San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle and his family won't back to any challenge, he says, and they proved it Saturday with an ice bucket challenge response we haven't seen before.

The movement called the “Ice Bucket Challenge” was originally designed to raise awareness for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Weddle was joined at the Chargers practice facility by his wife, Chanel, daughters Brooklyn and Silver and son Gauge.

The children giggled as one by one they dumped buckets of water on each other and their mom.

The largest bucket was reserved for Weddle from high above. See the video here.

Weddle then challenged New Orleans Saints safety Jairus Byrd, professional golfer Charley Hoffman and actor Alex Puccinelli.

The Weddle family also pledged $500 to ALS research.
