San Diego businesses opened their hearts and their wallets to help those affected by the May Firestorm.
On Memorial Day all firefighters in SoCal are welcome for a free paddle at the Paddle Republic California at Humphreys Half Moon Inn & Suites on Shelter Island. Advanced reservations are suggested.
U-Haul of Oceanside is offering 30 days of free self-storage, U-box portable moving and self-storage pods to those being forced to evacuate their homes. U-Haul is also asking anyone who has a re-usable box to drop it off at the nearest U-Haul location. The boxes will be donated to other families in need.
The 24 Hour Dog Daycare in San Diego at 6660 Miramar Road, Suite B is offering a free service to foster dogs that have been displace by fires. They're open 24 hours a day. The can be reache at (858)-633-3387 but can also be reache at info@24hourdogdaycare.com.
San Diego members of the California Chiropractic Association are offering free chiropractic adjusments to local firefighters for the rest of the month. Firefighters can find a CCA-member in the San Diego area by clicking here or by calling (858) 279-7300.

They're not the only business stepping up to help out in San Diego's time of need.
- The San Diego Botanic Garden would like to invite all fire fighters and their immediate family members to visit the Garden for FREE this holiday weekend - Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 24 - 26. Fire fighters can present their badges at the Welcome Center for both free admission and free parking at the Garden.
- The Joint…the chiropractic place, announced Monday that first responders of the wildfires can get free adjustments through Saturday, May 31st as a way to say thank you. Offer includes consultation, exam and adjustment with present ID at time of visit at participating locations: Carmel Mountain, 12070 Carmel Mountain Road, Suite 290; Encinitas ,146 C N. El Camino Real; Escondido, 1250-A Auto Park Way; Mira Mesa, 8155 Mira Mesa Boulevard, Suite 5; Mission Valley, 2245 Fenton Pkwy, Suite 109; Oceanside, 4225 Oceanside Blvd., Suite L and Rancho Bernardo, 10449 Reserve Drive, Suite 140.
- Sunland RV Resorts offered free nights to San Diego fire evacuees at their parks in Escondido, La Mesa and El Cajon to those with an RV and on a first-come, first-served basis. “This is a difficult situation all around San Diego County, and Sunland RV Resorts would like to do what we can by offering a free place to stay for those evacuated,” stated Greg Sidoroff, Vice President of Operations. While domestic animals are welcome, Sunland RV Resorts cannot accommodate other animals, including livestock. Reservations are not required.
- In another effort to house evacuees, AirBNB -- a lodging rental website -- has created a website on which people offer up their homes for free or can find a no-cost place to stay.
- The YMCA announced that it would offer free and emergency child care on Friday, May 16 to families onfirst-come, first-serve basis in response to a number of school closures .
- Luna Grill was delivering food to responders and any shelters in the area. Call the company's catering line (855) 835-5862. Also, those in uniform who stop by any open Luna Grill in the areas affected by the fires will get a free meal. The company has locations in Carlsbad, Carmel Valley, Scripps Ranch and Poway.
- For those affected by school closures, the Mingei Museum was free to all SD county residents on Thursday, May 15..
- The San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park will also offer free admission and extra programs and activities for children Thursday, May 15.
- The hair salon Dearinger on Market Street was offering free cuts and color Thursday and Friday May 15 and 16, for anyone affected by the fires. Call 619-239-5400 for information.
- Dogs on Deployment are offering their database for military (active or retired) members to find boarders for pet owners who have been displaced by the fire.
- Del Mar Racing tweeted to victims they are “here for you.” Evacuees can drop off horses and other large animals at their facility.
- The Salvation Army is accepting monetary donations online and by phone at (800)-725-2769. Donors should specify which area of relief they would like their donation to go. The Salvation Army also has two mobile hydration units serving water, electrolyte drinks, coffee and snacks.
- The San Diego Humane Society is offering assistance to people who need to evacuate animals. Call (619) 299-0871 for more information.
