SWAT Team Raids House Containing Meth in Oceanside

A SWAT team raided a home in Oceanside early Tuesday morning where two dozen people may have been living.

Officers conducted the raid around 5 am, recovering two ounces of meth packaged for sale at the 1500-squre-foot home on Penkea Drive off of Hoover Street.

"Apparently it was like a mass exodus," Lt. Leonard Cosby said. "They knew that there were additional people living in the house, maybe 10 or so. But they did not expect to have 24 people out of there."

Cosby said the three children living in the home have been taken into protective custody.

A 27-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were arrested, on charges of felony child endangerment and possessing meth for sale.

Officers also called city code enforcement due to unsanitary living conditions.
