Firefighters work to remove an SUV that plowed through a Lincoln Park church after a traffic accident.

Just after 9 a.m. Wednesday, two vehicles were turning from Euclid to Imperial when a third car came through the intersection, slammed into both cars and then veered off and landed inside a nearby building. San Diego police say they are still investigating who was at fault in the accident.

The building was once an apartment complex, converted into a church with a small congregation of more than a dozen people. Several people rented living space in the upstairs portion of the building.

No one was at home at the time of the crash and the driver suffered minor injuries.

A building inspector was on the scene as of 10am to establish if the building is structurally sound.
