Cosmetology Students to Give Free Haircuts Through Charities

Students from the San Diego City College Cosmetology Dept. will offer free haircuts to San Diegans while supporting charities

More than two dozen students from the San Diego City College Cosmetology Dept. (SDCCD) will offer free haircuts to San Diegans in support of charitable organizations this month.

On Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the SDCCD students will put their skills to use at the Crisis House in El Cajon, providing free haircuts to local community members struggling with poverty.

On April 24, also form 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the students will give away around round of haircuts at the Third Avenue Charitable Organization (TACO) in downtown San Diego at First Lutheran Church.

Both organizations provide support for locals in need and their families.

“We are so very excited, honored, and humbled to be given this opportunity of community service in loving outreach to our home-challenged brother and sister neighbor(s),” Edgar Henderson, adjunct instructor in the Cosmetology Department, said in a statement.
