One of the main routes into downtown was closed early Thursday due to police activity.
Officers shut down southbound State Route 163 at Robinson for several hours just after 6 a.m.
Video from NBC 7 Newschopper shows police officers standing near a body in the roadway.
Patrol cars had the westbound I-8 onramp to 163 blocked to oncoming traffic, diverting people to I-8.
At 7:30 a.m., officers had opened the stretch of highway running from I-8 to Washington Street. The highway was reopened by 9 a.m.
It was the second highway closure of the morning.
Just 45 minutes earlier, the California Highway Patrol closed down westbound I-8 at Waring Road following a multi-car accident.
By 6:30, CHP was able to clear the scene and reopen the lanes to traffic.
