San Diego Fires Road Closures

 Four major fires burning across San Diego County have closed roads and freeways ahead of the blazes. 

In Cocos Fire:

Twin Oaks Valley Road and San Marcos Boulevard eastbound off ramps from SR-78 are now open.

The following off ramp on eastbound SR-78 remains closed:
- Nordahl Road

Due to road closures at the following locations, residents and motorists are advised to avoid these roads and use alternate routes:

-Twin Oaks Valley Road south of SR-78
-Discovery Street east of Via Vera Cruz
-San Elijo Road (all directions)
-Melrose Drive east of Rancho Santa Fe Road
-Elfin Forest Road (from City limits)
-Questhaven Road (from City limits)
-Coronado Hills Drive (all directions)
-La Moree Road (all directions)
-La Costa Meadows Drive (all directions)
-Cima Drive east of Via Vera Cruz
-Canyon Heights east of Via Vera Cruz
-Bridgeport Court north of Via Vera Cruz
-Honeysuckle Drive north of Via Vera Cruz
-Honeyglen Drive east of Via Vera Cruz
-Bent Avenue south of W. San Marcos Blvd.

 In Poinsettia Fire:

  • Limited access to Ambrosia Lane in Carlsbad to facilitate support for law enforcement personnel

North County Transit District will cease service at the Cal State University San Marcos SPRINTER Station starting at 1 p.m. Thursday. Please visit NCTD’s website for the latest information regarding bus detours and rail service impacts.

 In Tomahawk Fire:

  • Ammunition Road to Camp Pendleton, which will remain closed on Friday
