Box Cutter Found at Bonita Cove Park

A box cutter was discovered in Bonita Cove Park, San Diego police confirmed Sunday morning.

SDPD received the call from park rangers who initially reported razor blades were discovered around 10 a.m.

On Sunday, Jan. 18, six razor blades in Bonita Cove Park were found. The blades appeared to be brand new and were found facing upwards.

City workers found more razor blades Monday, Jan. 19 using metal detectors.

The community has been on high alert since then, with a reward to find the person behind the incidents going up to $2,000. The San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the Mission Beach Women's Club are offering the combined reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.

The case has been ongoing since 2013. Razor blades were found at the popular playground multiple times, including one instance where a mother was injured.
