Bull Taco customer Tim O'Brien grabs a photo of a painting on the wall of the Oceanside restaurant Friday that is suspected to be painted the night before by someone believed to be famed artist Banksy.
That "Banksy" work on the side of an Oceanside taco shop is not real.
That's what our media partners the North County Times learned from the public relations firm representing the British guerilla graffiti artist.
A white rat many believe to be a "Banksy" popped up on the side of Bull Taco Feb. 25.
Locals stopped to take pictures of the work and a few days after it went up, taggers wrote some letters on the wall to the right of the rat.
In an email sent Wednesday, Nancy Willen of Acme PR told the paper that the mural was not created by her client.
Even so, a worker at the taco shop said it doesn't matter to them who created it, "We liked it even before we knew," the paper reported.
A documentary directed by Banksy, "Exit Through the Gift Shop," was nominated for an Oscar this year.
