Rangers Slug Padres

The Rangers potent line-up delivered in a big way, overpowering the Padres 7-3.

The Rangers 3-4-5 hitters were the difference. Hamilton, Adrian Beltre and Nelson Curz combined for seven hits, six RBIs and five runs.

Padres bats were active, twelve hits in all, but managed to push only three runs across the plate. Starting pitcher Edinson Volquez (3-7) took the loss. He lasted only five innings, giving up six earned runs.

Beltre added a homer in the seventh for Texas, his 12th of the season. Rangers starter Scott Feldman (1-6) pitched six innings for his first win of the season.

The Rangers go for the series sweep Wednesday at PETCO Park. First pitch is at 3:35 PDT.
