Quake, Aftershocks Rattle San Diego

More earthquakes struck our region early this morning. At 3:37 a.m. Wednesday, a magnitude 4.3 earthquake was recorded about 15 miles south southwest of Calexico.

It was followed by at least three smaller quakes of magnitude 3.0 and 3.1 according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

No damage has been reported.

Downtown Calexico opened for business just last week after a strong earthquake that caused major damage along the California-Mexico border. A 7.2-magnitude quake shook the city and most of San Diego on April 4, killing two people in nearby Mexicali, Mexico.

Calexico is about 120 miles east of San Diego.
