Police say a man stole a pickup truck and then led them on a high-speed chase before crashing.

San Diego police officers say the pursuit started when a man stole a white truck near Fordham Street and Kenyon Street in the Midway District around midnight.

Around three minutes later, the pursuit came to an end when the truck went off the road and crashed into a tree at First and Beech Street.

Officers say they found tools and a purse in the truck. It’s still not known who those belong to.

The suspect was arrested for tampering with a vehicle.
