A woman called police Wednesday to report a strong-arm robbery.
The woman called the La Mesa police on 911 just before noon from the store's parking lot in the 8100 block of Fletcher Parkway. She told investigators she was walking in the parking lot with her purse hanging from her shoulder when two people in a shiny black vehicle drove up from behind.
A man in the passenger seat reached out and grabbed the woman's purse as the vehicle continued to roll. The vehicle immediately fled, police said.
The woman, who did not get a good look at the driver, suffered burn-type abrasions on her left arm during the purse snatching, police said. Officers said she was not seriously injured and was treated at the scene.
