A priest suspected of driving drunk slammed into a garage in Pacific Beach Friday night.

According to police, the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 4200 block of Jewell Street.

A man – identified by neighbors as a local priest who allegedly works at the Our Lady of Refuge Parish on the same street – lost control of his car and drove through the back wall of a home's garage.

Neither the driver nor anyone inside the home was injured, officials said.  A batallion chief at the scene said the collision caused some structural damage to the garage.

SDPD officers investigated the collision. The man was arrested at the scene for suspicion of DUI.

His name was not released.
