Two people were trapped in a car on I-8 Monday after a collision, including a pregnant woman who was transported to the hospital after emergency crews extricated her.

The accident occurred at about 1 p.m. Monday, on the eastbound I-8, just east of the I-805, the San Diego Fire Department said.

A medical supervisor driving on the opposite side saw the accident and called 911.

When crews arrived, two people in the car were trapped. After extricating the two people, medics determined that one person was uninjured. The other person, who was pregnant, was transported to the hospital.
