A pregnant woman was dragged several feet in a Costco parking lot after refusing to surrender her purse to two would-be-robbers, according to police.

The 28-year-old, who is about seven months pregnant, was walking in the parking lot at 2300 Fenton Parkway about 2:30 p.m. Saturday when two women in a burgundy 1990s-model car pulled up, San Diego Sgt. Ray Battrick said.

The passenger grabbed the victim's purse, but the woman wouldn't let go and was dragged several feet before the suspect gave up, Battrick said.

A witness followed the suspects and called police. Officers stopped them at Friars Road onramp to southbound Interstate 15.

Both women, aged 30 and 38, were arrested for attempted robbery.  Their names were not released.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
