More than 3,000 customers were without power in central San Diego, according to San Diego Gas & Electric.

A suspected problem in the overhead electrical system is likely what caused the outage around 10:15 a.m.

Neighborhoods without power include City Heights, Chollas Creek, Oak Park, Kensington, Talmadge, Rolando and College Area.

Areas of San Diego State University were also without power and SDG&E said it would be restored by 3 p.m.
