Porsche Collides With Truck, Kills 2

Investigators say the driver of the Porsche lost control and slid into oncoming traffic.

A mother and son are in the hospital and two people are dead after a speeding Porsche collided with a pickup truck.

The sheriff's department says the accident happened around 8 p.m. Sunday night at Manchester Avenue and MacKinnon Ranch Road in Encinitas.

Investigators say the Porsche was traveling eastbound and lost control and skidded into oncoming traffic. Two of the Porsche's three passengers were killed in the accident; the third was transported to a hospital.

The pickup truck was carrying the mother and son.

Excessive speed was definitely a factor in the collision, investigators said.
