Missing Chula Vista Girls Returned Home Safely

Dulce and Estrella Reyes were last seen Saturday afternoon

Chula Vista police said Tuesday morning that two sisters missing with a third teenager have been returned home safely.

In a news release, police did not provide details on where the girls were found.

On Monday, the girls’ family and friends were canvassing South Bay  with fliers and tacking up posters in hopes of bringing them home.

The 12-year-old and 16-year-old had disappeared from their Chula Vista home around 3 p.m. Saturday, according to police. Police say the girls may have run away but are still considered at-risk because of their ages.

The family has clues that the girls were still in South Bay on Monday, although they believed they were with a man driving a white Dodge Charger with tinted windows.

The girls were first spotted at a 7 Eleven in the morning and at Walmart on Sunday.

Some family members were handing out fliers at South Bay malls and parks. Others were at Castle Park Middle School, where Dulce is a student.

“Dulce, Estrella, please come back. I don’t know what happened,” said Lydia Reyes, the girls’ mother. “Please come back to us. We miss you guys.”

The girls could be with another female whom police say left home Friday after getting in a fight with her grandma. Officials had said the girls could be heading to Fresno.
